JAMB Subject Combination For Education and Social Science
The required JAMB subject subject combination for Education and Social Science are:
Any three Social Science Subjects.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) UNN:
a. For Education/Geography: English Language, Geography, plus any other two (2) subjects
b. For Education/Economics: English Language, Mathematics, Economics plus any other Social Science subject.
c. For Education/Political Science: English Language, Government, plus any other two subjects.
d. For Education/Social Studies: English Language, plus any other three Social Science/Arts subjects.
WAEC (O Level) Subject Requirements For Education and Social Science
The list of compulsory WAEC subjects required for Education and Social Science under the faculty of are as follows:
Five SSCE credit passes or equivalent to include English Language and Mathematics.
Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks
(i) UI: does not accept Home Economics. Accepts TC II (1967-1981). Also requires 5/6 credits at one/two sitting(s) to include Eng. Lang and other subjects from arts, Soc. Science or Science.
(ii) EBSU requires credit pass in Mathematics
(iii) UNIPORT requires subject or the teaching
subject relevant to the Teaching subject. Also requires Mathematics for Economics and Accounting and for Political Science requires Government or History.
(iv) UNN:
(a) Requires five ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language, a science subject and the subject to be combined with education.
(b) For Social Studies/Education: credit pass in three Social science or Arts subjects are required
(c) Credit pass in Mathematics and Economics for Education/Economics.
(d) Credit pass in Government for Political science/Education”
(e) Credit in Geography, plus any other three subjects and a pass in mathematics for Education/Geography.
(v) NDU requires five O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and any other three subjects, two of which must be social science subjects in not more than two sittings.
