To make this official, this is a notice to inform all JAMB and WAEC candidates who will be sitting for the upcoming JAMB examination that JAMB subject combination for Fine / Applied Art has been released by the management of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Keep in mind that the JAMB subject combinations as well as the o level (WAEC) requirements mentioned on this post are only meant for Fine / Applied Art under the faculty of Engineering, Environment and Technology.

JAMB Subject Combination For Fine / Applied Art

The required JAMB subject subject combination for Fine / Applied Art are:

Chemistry, Mathematics and Fine Art/Physics

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) UNIUYO does not require Mathematics.

(ii) UNIZIK requires any three Arts/Social subjects.

(iii) OOU accepts any three subjects from Arts, Sciences or Social Sciences excluding Commerce, Bookkeeping and Shorthand.

WAEC (O Level) Subject Requirements For Fine / Applied Art

The list of compulsory WAEC subjects required for Fine / Applied Art under the faculty of are as follows:

Five SSCE passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Fine Arts and two other from social science subject.
Mathematics, Arts and one Social Science subject.
For NTC the other two relevant subjects could be from any of the following: Decorative Painting; Spray Painting, Lining, Sign and Design; Wall Handling, Colour Mixing.

For NTC the other two relevant subjects could be from any of the following: Decorative Painting; Spray Painting, Lining, Sign and Design; Wall Handling, Colour Mixing/Matching and Glazing; Graphic Painting; Ceramics; Basic Electricity; Building/Engineering Drawing

Direct Entry and SSCE

(i) LAUTECH may accept ND/NCE with upper credit. in related fields plus UTME requirements.

(ii) OOU accepts NCE in Fine Arts or Applied Arts.

(ii) ABSU accepts good passes at HSC, GCE Advance level or NCE Examination in Fine Arts with an Average of B and minimum of five credits. Credit including English Language in SSCE or its equivalent

Special Requirements (Waiver) Remarks

(i) LAUTECH accepts Agricultural Science, Human Health and Nutrition as Science subjects.

(ii) ABSU requires five SSCE credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Fine Arts and any other two subjects for a four years programme. For Five year programme, five SSCE credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and any other three subjects.

(iii) UNIUYO accepts a pass (P7) in Mathematics. The department will assess the candidate’s real art pieces.

(iv) OOU Five Credit passes to include English language Mathematics and any other three (3) subjects.
